下午3時28分，觀塘物華街發生致命交通意外。一輛89X九巴正於康寧道右轉入物華街，其時一名逾80歲老翁突然橫過馬路，巴士車長收制不及，撞到老翁。老翁被撞到後被捲入車底被左邊尾轆壓住，途人見狀即時報警求助。
消防及救護趕至現場，將傷者救出，老翁被救出時已昏迷。救護員將傷者送往聯合醫院急救，惜搶救後證實不治。警員封鎖現場調查事故起因，康寧道跟物華街全線封閉，現場留下血跡及部分死者個人物品。該名巴士司機涉嫌危險駕駛導致他人死亡被捕，現正被扣留調查。
A tragic accident occurred in the bustling Mut Wah Street of Kwun Tong at approximately 3:28 PM today. According to eyewitnesses, an elderly man over 80 suddenly crossed the road as a KMB bus, route 89X, was turning right from Hong Ning Road onto Mut Wah Street. The bus driver was unable to stop in time and collided with the pedestrian, dragging him under the bus and pinning him with the left rear wheel.
Emergency services were immediately called, and firefighters and paramedics rushed to the scene. The injured man was rescued and rushed to United Christian Hospital for emergency treatment but was later pronounced dead. Police officers sealed off the scene to investigate the cause of the accident, and Kong Ning Road and Mut Wah Street were closed to traffic.
