衞生署表示，檢視該中心檢視醫療紀錄時，發現於一月十六日至二十八日及三月七日至二十八日期間，為合共21名市民接種超過建議使用日期後一至22天的復必泰疫苗，當中18人接種復必泰二價疫苗，三人接種復必泰原始病毒株疫苗。
根據疫苗製造商（復星醫藥）建議，復必泰二價疫苗及原始病毒株疫苗需於解凍後儲存於攝氏2至8度，並分別於70天內及31天內使用。衞生署高度關注事件，昨日傍晚接獲通報後要求中心即時提交報告，並因應提交資料於今早到中心進行巡查並了解接種程序。
衞生署已暫停該醫療中心的疫苗接種服務。衞生署將會繼續跟進醫療中心的相關改善措施，以決定是否恢復該醫療中心的疫苗接種服務。
衞生署已諮詢本地專家意見，並向復星醫藥了解有關疫苗的安全、效能及質素資料。專家建議受影響人士無須重新接種疫苗，另建議醫療中心應主動跟進受影響人士的健康狀況。署方已要求有關醫務中心聯絡受影響市民解釋事件和跟進他們的健康狀況。若有任何不適，應立即處理及通知衞生署。署方暫未接獲有相關受影響人士不適的報告。
21 persons being administered with Comirnaty bivalent vaccines and Comirnaty ancestral strain vaccines after the suggested use-by date by UMP Medical Centre (Kowloon Bay).
The Department of Health (DH) received notification in the late afternoon yesterday (March 30) from the above medical service provider that, when checking their medical records, they found that Comirnaty vaccines which had been kept one day to 22 days after the suggested use-by date were administered on 21 persons from January 16 to 28 and from March 7 to 28. Among them, 18 were administered with Comirnaty bivalent vaccines and three were administered with Comirnaty ancestral strain vaccines. As suggested by the vaccine manufacturer (Fosun Pharma), Comirnaty bivalent vaccine and ancestral strain vaccine should be kept at 2 to 8 degree Celsius and be used within 70 days and 31 days respectively after thawing.
The DH has consulted a local expert and inquired about Fosun Pharma the safety, efficacy and quality of the vaccine. According to the local expert, no re-vaccination is needed for the affected persons but the medical centre should actively follow up on the health condition of the affected persons.
The DH has suspended the medical centre's vaccination services. The DH will continue to follow up to see if the medical centre has implemented relevant improvement measures in order to decide if their vaccination services can be resumed.
