衞生署衞生防護中心正調查一宗與懷疑輸入個案有關的猴痘確診個案。該確診個案涉及一名過往健康良好的34歲男病人，他沒有接種猴痘疫苗。他四月十二日出現局部皮疹。由於病徵未有減退，他昨日（四月十九日）向私家醫生求診，並於同日獲安排入住瑪嘉烈醫院作進一步治療。院方安排他入住隔離病房進行隔離，現時情況穩定。衞生防護中心公共衞生化驗服務處今日確認病人的樣本測試結果對猴痘病毒呈陽性。
初步調查顯示，他於潛伏期內曾有高風險接觸。根據病人提供的資料，他的一名密切接觸者近期有前往受猴痘影響地區（包括韓國及台灣）的外遊紀錄，並於四月十二日開始出現皮疹。中心將該名人士列為懷疑輸入個案，並已安排其入院作進一步治療及檢測。另外，該確診個案曾於四月四至五日到訪澳門。中心正安排病人的兩名同住家人進行檢疫並接受暴露後疫苗接種，他們暫時沒有出現病徵。流行病學調查仍在進行中。
衞生署衞生防護中心提醒市民提高警覺，避免與懷疑感染猴痘的人士作密切身體接觸，同時建議高風險目標群組人士接種猴痘疫苗。猴痘並非如新冠病毒般可經短暫接觸呼吸道飛沫傳播，亦不會經一般的社交接觸傳播，良好個人及手部衞生有助預防經接觸感染病毒。
The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) said today that it is investigating a confirmed Mpox (also known as Monkeypox) case related to a suspected imported case and urged the public to heighten vigilance and avoid close physical contact with persons suspected of contracting Mpox. Meanwhile, high-risk target groups are advised to receive Mpox vaccination.
The confirmed case involves a 34-year-old male patient with good past health who has not received Mpox vaccination. He developed localised rash over his body since April 12. He consulted a general practitioner yesterday (April 19) due to his unresolved rash and was arranged to be admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital for further treatment on the same day. The patient is isolated in an isolation room and is now in stable condition. The CHP's Public Health Laboratory Services Branch today confirmed that his samples tested positive for the virus.
An initial investigation revealed that he had high risk exposure during the incubation period. According to the patient, one of his close contacts has recent travel history to Mpox-affected areas (including Korea and Taiwan) and has developed body rash since April 12. This close contact has been identified as a suspected imported case and the CHP has arranged admission for that close contact for further treatment and tests. Separately, the confirmed case has travelled to Macao from April 4 to April 5. The CHP is arranging two household contacts of the patient to undergo quarantine and receive post-exposure vaccination. They remained asymptomatic so far. The CHP's epidemiological investigations of the case are ongoing.
