晚上6時18分，油塘三家村碼頭對開崇信街一建築地盤發生火警。上址為「蔚藍東岸」建築地盤，一個位於大概11樓棚架位置起火，消防列為二級火警並派出搜救隊到場。
消防於現場架起雲梯開喉向棚架射水灌救，未幾將火勢控制。現場棚架被燒黑，火警中並無傷亡報告，而建築地盤亦無需疏散。消防及後於現場調查起火原因。
Fire Breaks Out at Yau Tong Construction Site
A fire broke out at about 6:18 pm today at a construction site in Shung Shun Street, Yau Tong, opposite the Yau Tong Sam Ka Tsuen ferry pier. The construction site was developing the residential property project “Montego Bay”.
The fire started from the 11th floor scaffolding and was classified as Grade 2 fire by the Fire Services Department. A search and rescue team was dispatched to the scene.
Upon arriving at the location, firefighters immediately set up cloud ladders and used hoses to shoot water at the scaffolding in an attempt to extinguish the blaze. They managed to bring the fire under control shortly after. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or casualties. Evacuation of the construction site was not required.
The fire department has launched an investigation into the cause of the accidental fire. The residential project “Montego Bay” is still under development in Yau Tong. There were no disruptions to the local community arising from this incident.
The fire at the Yau Tong construction site was brought under control thanks to the swift response of firefighters. There were no casualties or major disruptions, but it highlights the need for contractors to strengthen safety guidelines and vigilance to prevent such accidents from happening again.
