昨日凌晨4時，警方尖沙咀分區特遣隊人員於尖沙咀河內道及加拿分道巡邏期間，發現一名可疑男子，搜查後懷疑該名56歲本地男子偷取屬於他人的手提電話，初步調查後發現該名疑犯為一名休班警務人員。
警員遂以涉嫌「盜竊」拘捕男子，並帶回警署作進一步調查，案件交由油尖警區重案組跟進。警方強調，非常注重警務人員操守，如發現任何違法行為，必將嚴正處理，絕不容忍姑息。
A 56-year-old off-duty police officer was arrested by members of the Tsim Sha Tsui Regional Police Tactical Unit on suspicion of theft during a patrol in the early hours of yesterday.
According to police reports, the officers discovered the suspicious man during a patrol in Hanoi Road and Carnarvon Road in Tsim Sha Tsui. After conducting a search, the police found that the man had allegedly stolen someone else's mobile phone. Upon initial investigation, it was revealed that the suspect was an off-duty police officer.
The police officers arrested the man on suspicion of "theft" and brought him back to the police station for further investigation. The case was then handed over to the Yau Tsim Mong Police District Crime Squad for follow-up investigation.
The police emphasized their strong commitment to upholding the integrity of police officers and stated that any illegal behavior by officers would be dealt with seriously and not be tolerated. This incident raises concerns about the conduct of police officers and the importance of maintaining public trust in law enforcement institutions.
