警方於下午2時45分接獲一名漁民報案，指於大埔海濱公園吐露角對開兩米海面，發現有人形物體漂浮，懷疑有人遇溺。警方接報連同消防到場，將一名人士於水面救起，惟當場被證實死亡。
警方經初步調查，證實死者65歲，張姓男子，為一名失蹤人士。警方於現場未有檢獲遺書，而死者詳細死因則有待驗屍後確定。
Missing Man Found Dead Off Shore at Tai Po Waterfront Park
Police recovered the body of a 65-year-old missing man from the waters off Waterfront Park in Tai Po today. According to reports, a fisherman called the police at 2:45 pm to report finding a human-shaped object floating.
Responding officers and firefighters rescued the unidentified man from the sea, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was later identified as Cheung, a 65-year-old missing person reported to the police last week.
No suicide note was found at the beach, leaving the exact cause of death unknown pending an autopsy. However, police do not believe foul play was involved at this time. Cheung's family has been notified of his death, though the circumstances surrounding his demise remain under investigation.
