今日早上約6時半，大欖隧道發生車禍。一輛寶馬私家車駛過往九龍方向大欖隧道收費亭後與一輛Tesla電動車相撞，兩車駛至避車處查看並準備商討賠償問題，期時五十三歲寶馬車司機步出快線，一輛貨車重型貨車疑收掣不及將他撞倒，飛彈10米重創倒地，身體多處受傷，現場路上遺下大攤血漬。救護員趕到場，用自動心外壓機替傷者急救送上救護車，昏迷被送往仁濟醫院救治，於上午七時三十一分被證實死亡。
因交通意外，大欖隧道往九龍方向全線封閉，反方向往元朗的管道實施單管雙程行車。
意外後三十六歲重型貨車司機涉嫌危險駕駛引致他人死亡被捕，他現正被扣留調查。新界南總區交通部特別調查隊正跟進調查案件。警方呼籲任何人如目睹意外發生或有資料提供，請致電三六六一 一三三○或三六六一 一三四八與調查人員聯絡。
Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan this morning (August 21) in which a 53-year-old man died.
At around 6.30am, a private car driven by the 53-year-old man was travelling along Tai Lam Tunnel towards Kowloon. After passing the tollbooth, the private car suspectedly failed to brake in time and rammed into another private car driven by a 36-year-old man. When the 53-year-old private car driver alighted from the car for checking, a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) suspectedly failed to stop in time which knocked down the 53-year-old man from behind.
Sustaining serious bodily injuries, the 53-year-old man was rushed to Yan Chai Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 7.31am.
The 32-year-old male HGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries. Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
