一名居住於於屯門福亨村路138號綠怡居的女子，昨午午6時許報案，指其39歲女兒被膠袋蓋着頭部昏迷，而其66歲丈夫其後離去。救護人員趕到現場將其女兒送院搶救，期後警方於屋苑會所附近發現丈夫上吊，後證實不治。消息指39歲女兒患有腦病需要照顧，需使用輪椅代步。
據了解，女事主在浴室洗澡期間，聽到客廳傳來呼叫聲，她馬上衝出來查看，發現丈夫手持一個膠袋遮蓋女兒的頭，企圖令女兒窒息，她立即制止，男事主其後交低一張紙條後便離開。女兒受傷但有意識，頸部和胸部不適被送往屯門醫院治理。警方約一個半小時後在屋苑會所的更衣室發現男事主用以帶上吊自縊，被發現已昏迷不醒，送往屯門醫院於晚上8時20分被證實死亡。
警方初步調查顯示，該名男子上吊前，曾企圖在單位內以膠袋套着其女兒的頭部，並懷疑以手襲擊其女兒胸口。警方在現場檢獲一個膠袋、一條皮帶及一封遺書，懷疑與案有關。案件列作企圖謀殺及自殺，交由屯門警區重案組跟進調查。稍後將安排為死者進行驗屍，以確定其死因。
A woman living in Botania Villa on Fuk Hang Tsuen Road, Tuen Mun, reported to the police around 6 pm yesterday that she had found her 39-year-old daughter unconscious with a plastic bag over her head and her 66-year-old husband missing. Ambulance personnel rushed to the scene and transported the daughter to the hospital for emergency treatment. Later, the police discovered the husband's body hanging with a belt in a changing room at the development's clubhouse and confirmed that he had passed away.
According to reports, the daughter has a brain disease and requires care, using a wheelchair to move around. The incident reportedly occurred while the daughter was taking a shower in the bathroom. She heard a call from the living room and rushed out to find her husband using a plastic bag to cover their daughter's head, attempting to suffocate her. She immediately intervened and stopped him, after which the husband left a note and disappeared. The daughter was injured but conscious, suffering from discomfort in her neck and chest, and was transported to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment.
About an hour and a half later, the police found the husband hanging in a changing room at the development's clubhouse, using a belt to hang himself. He was found unconscious and rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital, where he was confirmed dead. Police investigations have suggested that the man attempted to cover his daughter's head with a plastic bag before his wife intervened. The police seized a plastic bag, a belt, and a note purporting to be a will in connection with the case. The incident is being treated as attempted murder and suicide and is being investigated by the Tuen Mun Police District Serious Crime Unit.
