一名13歲女童感染甲型流感，情況危殆。
女童過往健康良好。她於潛伏期內曾前往內地，五月一日返港後開始發燒和喉嚨痛，並於五月三日因徵狀持續和嘔吐被帶往威爾斯親王醫院急症室求醫及入院接受治療。病人的呼吸道樣本經化驗後，證實對甲型流感病毒呈陽性反應。病人現時情況危殆。初步臨床診斷未排除病情與感染甲型流感併發敗血症有關，進一步化驗正在進行中。
衞生防護中心正繼續調查。
The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health is today (May 4) investigating a case of severe paediatric influenza A infection and reminding the community to heighten vigilance against influenza.
The case involves a 13-year-old girl with good past health. She had been to the Mainland during the incubation period and developed a fever and a sore throat after she returned to Hong Kong on May 1. She was brought to the Accident and Emergency Department of Prince of Wales Hospital for medical attention on May 3 due to persistent symptoms and vomiting and was admitted for treatment. Her respiratory specimen was positive for influenza A virus upon laboratory testing. She is now in critical condition. The preliminary clinical diagnosis cannot rule out the possibility that her condition is related to influenza A infection complicated with sepsis, and further laboratory testing is being conducted.
