香港天文台台長今日主持新聞簡報會，匯報天文台的最新發展及講述今年天氣展望。天文台指，將於酷熱天氣警告上新增「極端酷熱天氣警告」，當天文台或新界普遍哋佢錄得35度高溫，即會發出。天文台表示，鑑於全球暖化令全球多個地區氣溫持續上升，市民於極端高溫情況下應注意及採取適當預防措施。
另外天文台預料，今年將會有4至7個熱帶氣旋進入本港，直至10月風季結束。雖然因氣候暖化導致全年雨量偏少，但本港仍會受暴雨影響，市民應為雨季做好準備。
Hong Kong Observatory Director hosted a press briefing today, reporting the latest developments and outlining this year's weather outlook. The Observatory announced that they will be introducing an "extremely hot weather warning" in addition to their hot weather warning. The warning will be issued when temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius are recorded in Hong Kong or the New Territories. The Observatory noted that rising temperatures globally have resulted in numerous regions experiencing extreme heat, urging citizens to take appropriate precautions during such weather conditions.
Furthermore, the Observatory predicts that Hong Kong will experience 4-7 tropical cyclones until the end of the wind season in October. While rainfall is expected to be below average due to climate change, the city is still at risk of heavy rain, prompting citizens to prepare for the rainy season.
