上午9時42分，葵涌呈祥道發生嚴重交通意外。一輛沿呈祥道往荃灣方向290A巴士，行駛至近盈暉臺對出，突然失控鏟上路邊石壆，車身向右傾側，司機被困車內，由消防救出急救。
其時巴士上載有至少77名乘客，有部分自行走出車廂，大概55多名乘客仍然被困車廂上層，消防坍塌拯救正協助乘客離開車廂。現時呈祥道往荃灣方向全線封閉，消防於大概11時20分將所有被困乘客救出，44名傷者送往明愛醫院及瑪嘉烈醫院及仁濟醫院治理。涉事54歲姓鍾司機涉嫌「危險駕駛」被捕，司機暫時獲准保釋，等待4月中旬再返回警署報到。
A serious traffic accident occurred on Ching Cheung Road in Kwai Chung at 9:42 am. A bus numbered 290A heading towards Tsuen Wan lost control and hit a roadside barrier near Ying Fai Terrace, leaving some 40 people injured. The driver was unconscious and trapped inside the vehicle, and was later rescued by the firefighters and sent to the hospital for treatment.
At the time of the accident, there were at least 30 passengers on the bus, with some of them self-evacuating from the vehicle. The bus was estimated to have a total of about 77 passengers, with roughly 55 passengers still trapped on the upper deck. The fire department was working to rescue them after the collapse. Currently, the entire section of Cheung Heung Road towards Tsuen Wan is closed. At approximately 11:20 a.m., the fire department rescued all the trapped passengers. 44 injured passengers were sent to Caritas Medical Centre, Princess Margaret Hospital, and Yan Chai Hospital for treatment. The 54-year-old driver surnamed Chung was arrested for "dangerous driving." The driver was temporarily released on bail and is scheduled to report back to the police station in mid-April.
Ching Cheung Road towards Tsuen Wan is currently closed to traffic, and the rescue operation is still ongoing.
